Introduction of the Laboraotry
Time-domain astronomy is one of the forefront astropysical research area in coming decades. Our lab mainly study time-varying celestial objects with focused on variable stars characterizations, but also include other topics such as transients folllow-ups, asteroid rotations studies, and stellar systems (open/globular clusters and regular/dwarf galaxies) investigations. We utilize observations in the optical and infrared, together with professional techniques such as image reduction, time-series analysis, astro-statistics, astro-informatics, machine learning, and etc in our research. Currently our lab is participating in Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) Project, and joining Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) soon. We also carry out observations at Lulin Observatory, CFHT, and the upcoming 2-meter telescope.
