In the gravitationally bound exospheres of massive airless planetary bodies like the Moon and Mercury, atoms and molecules undergo far more collisions with the planet surface than with each other. All the species in the exosphere also behave differently. Therefor, the gas-surface interactions influence the on the distribution, composition, and time variability of the atmospheres. In this talk, I will introduce the surface-bounded exosphere of the Moon and Mercury.
