摘要:
Planet formation begins in the earliest stages of star formation. The key to understanding the observed diversity of exoplanets may lie in the star formation processes. The composition of the dust and gas provides a view into the processing of materials as the young protoplanetary disk forms and grows. Thus, the physics of star formation can only be unveiled by studying the physical and chemical structure of protostars. To shed light on this question, we have used the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array to spatially resolve embedded protostars. In this talk, I will present recent studies on the molecular composition of young disks and future plans with JWST. I will also discuss future challenges to overcome in star and planet formation.
