The acceleration of the Universe is one of the biggest puzzles in physics: is it due to a cosmological constant, dynamical dark energy, or modification of gravity? Since cosmic acceleration slows down the growth of structure in the Universe, surveying galaxy clusters across cosmic time provides a unique opportunity to answer this question. In this talk, I will first discuss how we use the number counts and masses of galaxy clusters from surveys to constrain cosmic acceleration. I will then talk about how we use multi-wavelength observations - including gravitational lensing, galaxy dynamics, X-ray, and submillimeter - to measure cluster mass. I will present my research on using simulations to improve cluster selections and mass measurements. These results not only mitigate the systematic errors in current cluster surveys but also help the optimization of future ground- and space-based missions.
