I will introduce the status of the 1.6m New Solar Telescope (NST) at Big Bear Solar Observatory (BBSO), especially the focal plan instruments and high order adaptive optics. It includes broader band filter system, visible-light imaging spectroscopy system, near-infrared imaging magnetograph system, fast imaging spectrograph system. I also discuss the science capability of the telescope and the science plan. Finally, I will present some exciting new results of NST, in the areas of high resolution observations of solar flares, twisted magnetic field structures, small scale energy releases and jets, and fine structure of sunspots. Outstanding recent movies and pictures will be shown.
