The advent of large Integral Field Unit (IFU) surveys opens a new window to probe galaxy evolution. In this talk, I will introduce the SDSS-IV/MaNGA survey, which is a 6-year program to obtain IFU observations for 10K galaxies. The information of the resolved stellar population and kinematics enables the study of the star formation and quenching history of galaxies. Using the MaNGA data in conjunction with JCMT and ALMA, we study how the so-called "main-sequence galaxies" are built up, where the quenching occurs inside the galaxies, and what the role of molecular gas is in regulating star formation activities in galaxies. I will present the status of these projects and discuss the implications of our results.
