摘要:
Part 1. The Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics (ASIAA) is a research institute of the government. It undertakes facility projects in order to gain access to telescope time or survey data. I will introduce the facilities that are available to all astronomers in Taiwan, and update the progress in the upcoming facilities, such as TAOS2 and Greenland Telescope.
Part 2. I have been studying the supernova remnants (SNRs) in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). Recently, my focus has turned to Type Ia SNRs, particularly in the search for surviving companions of Type Ia SN progenitors. I will report on two Type Ia SNRs, 0509-67.5 and 0509-68.7 (N103B).
