摘要:
Extend Red Emission (ERE) is observed at optical wavelengths ranging from 540 nm to 950nm in interstellar space, resulting from photoluminescence driven by far-ultraviolet photons on interstellar grains. Despite the fact that ERE was discovered decades ago, the identification of the carriers of this emission has remained a long-standing unsolved problem in the field of interstellar medium (ISM). In this talk I will report the discovery of ERE in the diffuse reflection nebula IC59 together with the detection of ERE in the PDR of IC63. Since the both nebulae are externally illuminated by the early B star gamma Cassiopeiae, the perfect geometry consisting of the star and the nebulae provides us with an ideal laboratory to place more constraints in this interesting phenomenon.
